You ever see a baby play the "drop the bottle" game? Baby drops bottle, giggles, Mom picks it up, baby drops again, etc etc. My very mature 14 month old Junior is currently taking his bone, ever so slyly movng to the edge of the bed, dropping it, then coming over to Bella and barking at her because she has one (that she is not so stupidly throwing over the side of the bed). I pick it up, he makes his way over to the edge of the bed and drops it like a fool. I might be really annoyed if I didn't find it kind of funny. Whenever they have the SAME THING he wants hers, always. No matter if it is IDENTICAL! And he's so much bigger then her, he could just take it if he really wanted, but no, he would much rather annoy everyone by barking. Will he ever get over this? Does this happen to everyone else with two?

Yes! :faintthud:
Damien will walk over to the top of the stairs (we live in a townhouse so there are a lot of stairs) and fake like his ball / toy / whatever accidently rolled itself down the stairs. Then b/c he is left w/ no toy (nevermind that there is a whole basket full of toys in the livingroom)... he goes over and whines in our face b/c Jasmine has a toy and he doesn't. The funniest thing is when Jasmine sighs, get's up and get's his toy for him... and he does it all over again!

I only have Tangoman, but let me tell you, he does that kind of crap all the time for attention. The other day he brought his ball in the house, which is not allowed. I told him to get out with it! He sits at the top of the stairs and noses it and watches as it bounces down the stairs and through the hallway. Then he lies there with his head on his paws. What mum? I didn't do nothin. There I go, pick it up, throw it outside, and within a matter of seconds .... bounce, bounce, bounce.... he must have did this 100 times before mum got smart and shut the door. LOL It made me laugh though....as I'm sure he was laughing - at me, not with me.

Flick always starts raising a fit if he thinks Angel has something that he might possibly want, Angel never does..My first Boxer used to play "drop the toy", oh man he had me soo trained, he would drop a ball off the bed, it would roll under the bed, so then he would fuss until I got it, this would go on for a good half hour or so..Heaven forbid that I would refuse to retreive for him!!

LOL Laila used to do that with Otis (Boston Terrier, my parent's dog...RIP sweet boy). They'd each have a marrow bone, and would take turns taking the bones away from one another....it was very funny. And, I have to retrieve toys for her that roll under objects, furniture, etc. She looks at the toy and whines, looks to me "YOU get it Mommy!".

Willow does this ALL the time with Molly (my pugXJRT). I never give one without giving the other when it comes to tastey treats. I even have a lot of doubles when it comes to their toys. Regardless, if Molly has something (even if Willow has exactly the same toy), Willow wants the one Molly has (I think it's a younger sibling thing, because my brother used to do this all the time when we were kids! LOL).

I've been trying to break her of the habit, as Molly usually ends up just giving it to her and then ignores the first one Willow had (I think Molly realizes that Willow will just whine for that one as well).

LOL, Im glad to hear Jr's not the only whiny brat! At first I was thinking it was a male thing (you know, being a big whiny baby and all ;) lol JK!) but after reading your stories, I think it affects males & females! We got us some spoiled bratty pups, lol.

Finchy is the worst, all toys and bones are his, doesn't matter that he has his own sitting right in front of him, he must have the girls also. When he is finished, and only when he is finished, he'll allow them to part take of the toys/bones and he could care less. I've tried to stop this because I think it's unfair. But.....some major fights have broken out, only during this time. I figured it's an alpha thing, Finchy being alpha. The other dogs seem to respect this and they all seem to do fine by it. I guess whatever works. Then Finchy is really giving and laid back when it comes to his food. He will allow all the other dogs to eat first, usually, even though I feed them all in separate dishes at the same time. He'll watch as they eat, and they all switch food bowls several times, because they each want what the other has. But they don't touch his bowl. When they've eaten, and he's protected his food from them, then he'll eat. It's very interesting/odd/kinda childish behavior. I just observe.

haha YES Polo and Bruiser are horrible about doing that. Polo wants what Bruiser has and Bruiser wants what Polo has, EVERY time I bring home a toy or bones or something, I give it to them and they ALWAYS switch and as soon as one dog starts playing and having fun with their toy the other one wants it back! Annoying.... but hilarious to watch

we get to deal with all balls are Brandi's just ask her! if I have done a whole house sweep and put all the balls back in the toy box she goes and gets them one by one and hides them under the furniture if Ziggy goes and gets one before Brandi has them all under the furniture Brandi goes and nips Ziggs back ankles untill she drops the ball then swoops in and steals the ball and goes and hides it after all balls are "hidden " she sits and barks at the nearest human to get her a ball to play with which someone ALLWAYS gives in too she has us trained just the way she likes us lol ( buster refuses to play her game and ignores all balls! ) for some reason she only does this with balls other toys are fine to share
